Discover the world of science and technology at NEMO Science Museum. This is where children can playfully experience science and technology the entire day. This museum is all about learning by doing. By using a variety of playful exhibitions, NEMO Science Museum introduces young and old in the science world. The museum has five floors that are filled with continuously renewed exhibitions, theatre performances, films, workshops and demonstrations.
The museum is situated in a remarkable building amidst the city’s Eastern Docklands. The large green, sloping building reminds us of a 17th century ship about to take off for a long journey and was opened in 1997. You can enter the museum by climbing the roof of the building. The roof also functions as a square which makes it the highest town square in the Netherlands.
At NEMO Science Museum you can see, feel, smell, and hear how the world works!
Other activities in this neighbourhood that are fun for kids are the National Maritime Museum, and Artis Royal Zoo.
