Steakhouse Piet de Leeuw in Amsterdam was one of the first pubs (1949) in the Dutch capital and still boasts all the characteristics of a pub. The reputation of the pub in the culinary field was initially grounded on steak with bread. These days however, the kitchen is widely known as a supplier of excellent meals prepared with care. A prime example is the butter-baked sole of +/- 600 grams. This thick, flavourful and crispy fish is highly recommended for those who want to try something different than meat.

Dining in the restaurant is enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of the establishment. You’ll find authentic Dutch humour and no nonsense. The interior is authentic: wooden furniture, floorboards, gin jars on the panelling, oil-paint on the ceiling and a shining tap. It’s a real throwback to the city of yesteryear which is a nice feeling every once and a while isn’t it?

Restaurant Piet de Leeuw in the Dutch capital is the right fit for anyone that appreciates a simple but tasteful dish and doesn’t want to deal with fancy frills and finery. Are you such a person? Book a table today!
