Event Calendar February – What’s on in Amsterdam
Already one month into the new year! A lot is about to happen and we don’t want you to miss anything. So let’s have a look at all the events which will take place in February!
2-4 February – Little Italy Westergasfabriek
Smell, taste and discover Italy right here in Amsterdam. With several activities like food markets, workshops, a pub quiz and last but not least a wine bar you will get the best of the country. Discover the taste and specialties of some of the biggest regions in Italy. If you think of going on a trip to Italy, you can ask all your questions and let you inform at one of the travel stands. 14 February – Valentines day
The love boat dinner cruise
What is more romantic then cruising with your date on the pretty canals of Amsterdam. On Valentine’s day there is a special 4-course menu on the boat. The boat will leave right across from Central Station and will take you on a 2,5 hour cruise. Check out the cruise here.
Café 1884 – Valentine’s dinner
Café 1884 doesn’t let this special moment pass. On Valentine’s Day you can enjoy a 4-course dinner at this cozy restaurant just 5 minutes from the Central Station with a beautiful view over the IJ-river. The best is saved for last is definitely the case here, when you finish the night with a tasting of homemade delicacies. Think of a Coconut cake with pineapple, a lollipop of white chocolate with espresso, vanilla yogurt with mangocream, creme brulee with spices and orange ice cream. Can this be any better? We want this!

16 February – Chinese New Year
The Chinese will celebrate Huangdi 4715, the year of the dog on their own traditional way with the lion and dragon dance. During the Chinese New Year the biggest migration will take place. Chinese from all over the world go back home to celebrate New Years eve with there family. If you may not know there is even a special Chinese temple in Amsterdam. It is located at the Zeedijk, only 15 minutes by foot from Central Station. Therefor the New Years festival will take place at Dam Square. After the festival it’s nice to grab some food at See Palace, the first floating Chinese Restaurant in Europe!
17 February – Pleinvrees on Tour
Life is a party! Several locations, Several parties and Amsterdam is one of the cities where Pleinvrees will turn up this year. The genres are Techno, house and don’t forget Deephouse! The line-up is very promising and will ensure a night full of magic!

24- 25 February – Chocao Chocolate Festival
What’s better than a little piece of chocolate wich slowly melts on your tongue? A festival full of chocolate of course! Learn all about the process, different types of chocolate and discover all the tastes. Taste, learn and discover are the three main words for this two days event at Beurs van Berlage. 24 February – Stars watching ARTIS Royal Zoo
A sky full of stars from Artis Amsterdam. Experience the nationwide star-watching from one of the most mystique spots you can imagine. When all the animals in the zoo are almost falling asleep you can enjoy the star-watching night. With different workshops all about stars is this an event for you and your whole family. Don’t forget to watch the stars through one of the telescopes that are standing at the best spots in the park!
Till 28 February – De Coolste baan van Nederland
Last chance to get a unique ice skate experience in the Olypmic Stadium of Amsterdam. Back in the days, in 1928 the Olympic summer games were organized for the first and last time in Amsterdam. Don’t forget the ISU WC Allround will also be held in the Olympic stadium from 9 to 11 March! Check the website for more information and tickets.

The Other half – Jacob Riis
Jacob Riis is seen as the founder of documentary photography. Riss was a journalist from New York between 1800 and 1900. You will see the poor side of New York through the lens of this amazing photographer. Every photo has his own unique story.
