Amsterdam Winter Parade RAI (21 December – 1 January)
Winter is back in Amsterdam with a special first Winterparade in the RAI. For 12 days young and old will experience why December is the most beautiful month of the year. From Thursday 21 December, the RAI will be turned into Winterparade Amsterdam: The place to experience the absolute Christmas feeling. With indoor and outdoor events it’s a fun event for the whole family! Some warm saunas and steaming Jacuzzis for mom and dad and for the little ones the ferris wheel and ice rink. Find out more here!
Ice* Village Amsterdam (20 – 30 December)
Go Dutch! After finishing your days at one of the museums at Museum square, you can’t miss the Ice skating rink and the Winter Village in the middle of the square, right in front of the Rijksmuseum. Visit the Winter Village at sunset and create the perfect photo moment. You will see all the little lights shining bright while enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate.
World Christmas circus Amsterdam (21 December – 7 January 2018)
Looking for something to do with the entire family? Then the World Christmas Circus is the place to be. This year will be the 33rd time that the Christmas circus will come back to Amsterdam again. The absolute world top of acrobats will be present, in total more than 120 people work together to make this the most spectacular and breathtaking show of the year! Shop your Christmas outfit at the Bijenkorf
In the heart of Amsterdam, on Dam square, you will find the city’s largest premium department store, the Bijenkorf. Visit a museum
Rijksmuseum is one of the museums that is open over Christmas. The museum has made a special program for families of the holiday break. There is a family painting workshop, a family tour and a family expedition that takes you on a journey to a different age. Royal Palace on Dam Square (open on 26th December)
The Royal Palace Amsterdam is in active use by the Dutch King Willem-Alexander and plays a major role during state visits, receptions, gala dinners and award ceremonies. Originally it was built as Amsterdam’s town hall, designed to reflect the power and wealth of the city. The palace is only open on the 26th of December which is in many countries not actually part of Christmas but in the Netherlands it is! Find your tickets online.
