The Espressofabriek is a café situated at the Westergasterrein, next to the Westerpark. Translated Espressofabriek means; espresso factory. Here you can always go for wifi, old fashioned Dutch apple pie, and the best coffee made by a true barista. At lunch time they serve tramezzini – an Italian sandwich – and at the end of the day this is also the place where you can get a glass of wine or a chilled beer.
The Westergasfabriek used to be a gas factory. Recently it has been remodelled into a creative terrain with all kinds of businesses. For instance, one of the most popular live tv-shows in the Netherlands, De wereld draait door, is filmed here every night. Because of its heritage, this part of Amsterdam is very spacious and thus looks very different from the rest of Amsterdam. When you are spending a day at the Westerpark, the Espressofabriek is then the perfect place to stop and rest for an hour or so.
