5x The best views in the Netherlands!

5x The best views in the Netherlands!

keukenhof flowerfield lisse - Amsterdam Welcome

A very popular destination throughout the year is The Netherlands. With the bustling city of Amsterdam, the great museums and the typical countryside, the Netherlands has something to offer for every traveler! You can drive through the tiny country in less than an hour, but actually the best places are all located in one part of the Netherlands: Holland! And because time is money, we will tell you exactly where to find the most beautiful views in Holland. Holland will take your breath away and make your Instagram account so much prettier!

1. Keukenhof

Do you already know the most beautiful spring garden in the world? Since 1950 the Keukenhof garden are open to public and every year they turn flowers, mainly tulips, into astonishing art, attracting people from all over the world! This year the theme of Keukenhof is ‘Dutch Design’ and we are especially looking forward to the Mondrian theme garden! Can you imagine: extremely bright yellow, red and blue tulips shaped like Mondrian’s the New York Boogie Woogie. Wow, what an amazing view that will be! From Amsterdam you can take the direct bus to Keukenhof and enjoy a few hours there. Inside the ‘Hop on Hop off Keukenhof’ there is even a little video presentation, telling you everything about Amsterdam, Holland en the Keukenhof park!

2. Zaanse Schans

There is no escaping it, ‘Holland’ screams windmills! And at the Zaanse Schans, only a 15 minute drive from Amsterdam, you will see the beautiful old mills in all their glory. During the 17th century over 600 windmills were constructed in this region, creating an ‘old school’ industrial region. You can learn everything about the working of these mills, and in the same region you can also meet traditional Dutch cheese farmers and clogmakers. But all those windmills in a row are a beautiful view!

3. Amsterdam Lookout

The capitol city of the Netherlands is Amsterdam; a city with so many amazing views on its own! In 2016 the Amsterdam Tower opened it’s doors, offering a 360 degrees panoramic view over the city at one side, and the countryside on the other side. With good weather, you can see as far as other city’s, like Utrecht! Go inside the freaky elevator to the 20st floor of the enormous building. At arrival the staff of the Amsterdam Lookout takes your photo and after that, have a cocktail and enjoy the amazing view! If you feel really brave, there is a swing as well, making you feel like your floating in the air!

4. Amsterdam Canal District

Amsterdam is absolutely breathtaking. It’s for good reason that the biggest part of the center, the canal district, is on the list of the UNESCO world heritage sites. The best way to see the beautiful architecture of the Golden Age is in a canal cruise. So get your camera ready and get in one of those boats!

5. Rotterdam

Another, yet to be discovered by tourists, city in Holland is Rotterdam. This city was bombed during WWII, so the sites and views are not very historic. What Rotterdam has to offer though are amazing modern buildings, with unique architecture! At the Euromast you will see the entire ‘industrial’ city from a good height. Another impressive view in Rotterdam is the harbor: this is one of the biggest harbors in the world! You can take a harbor tour and get unique photo material for sure.

Are you already convinced to visit Holland yet? Spring would be the best time, for the Keukenhof garden are only open from 23 March until 21 May. Have a good time!
